Elektroniczne Zakłady Naukowe (EZN) - The Vocational High School under the Ministry of Heavy Duty-with due ceremony was opened by Professor Boleslaw Iwaszkiewicz, the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Council of the city of Wroclaw on 29th November 1963.

The school was named after Frederic Joliot - Curie. The first headmaster was Tadeusz Pietrusiewicz M.Sc. Under his management the teaching staff -numbering 104 teachers - began the work on curriculum, and equipped rooms, laboratories and workshops.

The school consisted of: Electronics Technical School, Vocational School, Wrocław’s Electronics Plant Complex of Schools - "Elwro" and National School of Technology.

EZN in its early days did not have a permanent location, the school benefited from the kindness of the Energy High School at Józef Hauke-Bossak Street, then the Chemical High School at Skwierzyńska Street. In the years 1963-2007 the school was located in the building at Aleksander Ostrowski Street no. 22. Currently EZN is located at Braniborska Street no. 57.

In 1963 the EZN Workshop started its activity. Young people had a chance for practical training. There in the classes the students performed the following: installing and activating controls for switching the lights in traffic lights, installing and tuning heads to FM radios, repairing and tuning television channels switches, complex manufacturing of printed circuit and maintenance repairing of radios and TV sets.

On 9th November 1971 Wrocław’s Electronics Plant "Elwro”, (later the Centre of Computer Automatics and Measurements Systems "Mera-Elwro") provided our school with "Odra 1025", that is the second-generation transistorized computer designed and produced since 1967. The computer was intended for scientific and technical calculations and for controlling technical processes in real time. "Odra 1025" was the first Polish microprogramming computer. The workshop functioned until 1996, then was moved to the Practical Training Centre at Strzegomska Street.

In the succeeding years of its activity the school adapted its educational profile to the needs of "Elwro" facility and in general to the electronics industry. Work on the development and implementation of curriculums for new subjects begun. In the 1970's and 1980's our students were successful in Young Champions of Techniques Competition for the best thesis.

In the 1990's in accordance with the objectives defined in the reforms concerning secondary education, EZN consisted of:

High School no. XXI (the school was founded in 1992, last graduates took their secondary school certificate - matura exam - in 2010), Secondary School no. XVI – Electronics and IT Management Profile (the school functioned until 2010) and post-secondary vocational school.

At that time, the youth in our schools were successful at choral festivals and volleyball competitions. The aim was to create the school environment that would allow students to develop their interests. The vision of a modern school preparing not only for the profession was consistently carried out. Since 1st September 2006 Information Technology and Electronics Technical High School No10 has been educating electronics technicians, IT technicians and mechatronics technicians.

Today EZN is a friendly school that is able to combine tradition with modernity. We remain loyal to the values passed through successive generations of graduates. We care about cultivating long-term tradition. Present day poses new challenges for us as times people, habits and expectations change. We try to meet them all in our school. The pride of our school is not only the success in the sphere of teaching, but above all in educational, upbringing field.

The overriding goal in all our activities is a concern for the students to improve abilities and extend interests, we help them develop their talents and passions. Our students have the opportunity of training in fields closely related to the needs of current labor market. Modern teaching methods, high-quality equipment used in the classrooms and appropriately selected staff provide a solid education.

EZN is the place that combines tradition and modernity, science and fun, discipline and a friendly atmosphere.
